About Penneshaw Campus

Penneshaw Campus is the smallest campus with approximately 75 students from Reception to Year 9. This campus is situated closest to the mainland in the township of Penneshaw, the gateway to Kangaroo Island where the Sealink Ferry docks and enjoys spectacular views of our surrounding ocean.

There is a school bus link that provides transport for local Year 10 – 12 students who travel to Kingscote Campus, and as required Parndana Campus, for their senior years.

The campus hosts good resources and facilities which link our students with their local environment and their world. Mainstream and specialist staff offer programs covering all Australian Curriculum areas. The Kangaroo Island, world recognised and unique environment is utilised for learning opportunities throughout the curriculum, with students learning in the environment and local specialists supporting learning on campus.

Weekly assemblies and student meetings ensure each member of our Penneshaw Campus learning community has a voice in decision making and communication, and develops a sense of audience and belonging.

Our campus is committed to strong connections with the local community and hosts a public library annex for locals and visitors. Local sporting clubs train and play in our campus Recreation Centre. Students and staff participate in revegetating local areas each year.

The Penneshaw Campus grounds are beautiful, spacious and well equipped. They include a kitchen garden and fruit trees for students to grow and harvest their own produce to use in the Kitchen Classroom.
